Celebrity Hair Crush: Julianne Hough

Most of the time when we look for new styles to try the first people we go to are celebrities. They are always going on the red carpet with new fun styles to try, but how to achieve them is sometimes the problem we run in to. Julianne Hough is one of my personal favorites, and definitely my go-to celebrity when styling my own hair. She can be blonde or brunette, have short, medium, or long hair and always looks fabulous! Here are two of my top picks from her hairstyles, and the way I would go about getting the perfect Julianne Hough look!

 1.      First you need to start with a deep side part, preferably a messy one. Flat iron the underneath section really straight. Then take medium size sections all the way around your head and bend them with your flat iron midway down the section.  If your hair is longer, you may have to put two bends in each section so there isn’t too much straight hair on the end. This will give you that messy, I didn’t really try to curl my hair look. All of the bends should be going away from your face on each side. After you are done, spray some hairspray onto your fingers pull at the ends to make them flip out a little.

2.      For this style, you will also need a deep side part, but it should be nice and clean. Spray a working hairspray all over to begin. Depending on the length of your hair, use any curling iron size between 1”-2”. For Julianne’s length, I would use a 1 ½” curling iron. Beginning with the side with the most hair, curl 1” sections all toward your face. Keep going in the same direction all the way around your head, so when you end up on the side with less hair, you should be curling away from your face. This technique gives you the ‘Hollywood Glam’ look. After all of your hair is curled, let it set for five minutes so all the heat is gone from your hair. Then you can run your fingers or a wide tooth comb through it, and it will all fall together with the same curl pattern. A final hairspray all around and you are ready for a night out!

I hope you will try these pretty styles this year and see how they work on your hair! You can always add something special to make it your own; everyone’s hair is different!

Have a great week!
