In case you haven’t noticed, winter is in full swing. As I work on getting my thin Puerto Rican/Floridian blood to thicken, I find that the cold, dry northern air has been sucking the life out of one of my best features… my lips! My poor lippies have a history of flakiness, but experiencing my first “real” winter has left my pout thirsting for moisture and exfoliation. Enter my awesome Mary Kay consultant, Janell! This Christmas, Janell lovingly gifted me Mary Kay’s Satin Lips set and my pucker could not be more grateful!
The Satin Lips Lip Mask is my favorite of the two products. Much like a mask that you would use on your entire face, the Lip Mask has a mud-like consistency with exfoliating microbeads to massage away the lifeless skin cells on the surface of your lips. First, apply the mask in a thick layer over the entire surface of your lips, focusing on problem areas. Allow it to sit on your lips for 1-2 minutes, then using circular motions; rub the mask off using a damp washcloth or your ring finger. According to marykay.com, Satin Lips Lip Mask contains Vitamins A & E which are “free-radical scavengers, antioxidants [that] help protect the skin from the effects of free radicals generated by the environment.” It also includes Vitamin A and Camellia Leaf Extract that condition and smooth the skin. Next, follow up your freshly exfoliated lips with Satin Lips Lip Balm, which Mary Kay claims that along with improving the appearance of your lips, it also retains moisture for at least 6 hours. Satin Lips Lip Balm has a clear, gel-like consistency (similar to Carmex without the camphor and menthol) that leaves your lips feeling silky smooth. The difference this treatment makes on my lips is night and day. Check it out below!
Although I will admit that the Lip Balm alone is not much to write home about, when used in conjunction with the Lip Mask it is a delightful treat! Both products are very gentile for sensitive skin and are fragrance free. The two step system will set you back $18 for both, or $9.50 individually. Visit www.marykay.com to find a consultant near you! I highly recommend this lip treatment as it has saved my lips this blustery winter season!
In the meantime dolls, I wish you all warm thoughts and a baby soft pucker!
