Ever woken up one morning to a fresh pimple, shining back at you in the mirror? We know we shouldn’t do it, but sometimes you just can’t resist the urge to pop it! And then we suffer the consequences. Usually the red, swollen, oozing bump is worse than what it started as, and what’s worse, now your concealer won’t stick! Good news. There is something you can do! You’ll need a few things:
Toner (witch hazel works well)
Cotton swabs and cotton balls
First, wash your face with your usual cleanser. If you’ve already washed your face, just take a cotton ball with toner and go over the area.
Using a cotton swab, apply some calamine lotion to the pimple. This will dry it out so it doesn’t continue to ooze, and also reduces swelling. Let the lotion sit for 5-10 minutes.
Remove the calamine with toner on a cotton ball.
Use a cotton swab to apply a very thin layer of the liquid bandage to the pimple. Liquid bandage contains antiseptic which will keep new bacteria from building up during the day. Only apply one thin layer, because any more could make the edges peel up.
Once the liquid bandage is dry, you can apply your makeup as usual. Be careful around the pimple just to make sure not to disturb the bandage.
Note: This may not work for all skin types. If you notice any irritation, discontinue use.
